The Covert Café Website Redesign
The Covert Café needed a modern website that better reflected the energy of the venue while improving discoverability for its live music, comedy nights, community events, and food offerings.
Digital Elevation delivered a complete redesign focused on performance, usability, and local SEO. The new site makes weekly events easier to browse, presents the café’s food and beverage menu more clearly, and introduces a dedicated media section showcasing recorded live performances and comedy nights from YouTube. This helps attract new artists to the venue while giving performers additional exposure after events.
Beyond the redesign itself, the project also included migrating the business away from an expensive legacy GoDaddy hosting setup where the client was paying inflated costs for website hosting and SSL services. By moving to a modern static hosting architecture, we significantly reduced ongoing operating costs while improving speed, reliability, and security.
A key requirement was preserving the existing workflow used by event coordinator Joe Mishkin to manage and publish the venue’s busy calendar of events. The redesign maintained that familiar process while dramatically improving the presentation and user experience of the site.
The project was completed with a rapid turnaround in just a few days, giving the venue a faster, cleaner, SEO-friendly platform without disrupting day-to-day operations.
